1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your brand?
My name is Gaby Guzman. I'm a Dominicana, a mom, a true Libra, and I have been living in the U.S. half my life. I am committed to helping womxn become who they really are so they can be free. Our playground is entrepreneurship, and we work through soul work and strategy.
2. Throughout your business journey, how did you narrow down your niche and target market?
My niche found me. I had been working as a marketing agency for medium sized companies. When I attended a few events for womxn entrepreneurs, I met all of these amazing womxn who requested my help. Through informal coffee meetups, I started coaching them without knowing that's what I was doing! I soon realized this was my favorite part of my days and in 2016, I decided to fully restructure my business to working with womxn entrepreneurs.
3. What is the inspiration behind your brand and doing what you love?
I have had so many moments in my life when I felt like I had to pretend to be someone else and made decisions to fit in, to meet others' expectations, to be "nice". I lost myself so many times. For the last ten years I have been doing the work - committed to my truth, to reclaiming myself, and I have found my joy and my peace in this journey. I am committed to helping womxn do the same for themselves.
4. What’s a major lesson you learned from working with incredible women entrepreneurs?
We are absolute magic - our joy, our sacred feminine, our devotion to community. When we are in our power, we hold ourselves, our families, our communities together in love, justice, abundance and creativity. Nothing can stop us.
5. How has your culture and heritage influenced your journey as a Jefa Entrepreneur?
I grew up in Dominican Republic, constantly surrounded by extended family and friends. People dropped by the house all the time, and I always knew I had support. When I came to the U.S., I noticed that life is so much more isolated and individualistic. I have been craving creating spaces here that bring people together with deep and real connection, intimacy and friendship as we go through our journeys.
6. What can we expect from you in the next year and how can we best support you?
I am starting a new chapter in my business and I'm so thrilled. After working on building a startup for almost three years - I'm excited to return to my roots of masterminding and coaching in intimate, deep and transformational spaces. I also feel very called to communicate and share more of me. I'll be spending time writing and speaking more and making creative space.
